Biography
Olga Freimut was born on February 25, 1982, in the small Ukrainian town of Novy Rozdol. The host’s father, Mikhail Konyk, was an engineer by education and played football, and his mother is a psychologist and master of sports in swimming. With the birth of her daughter, the woman quit her career in sports.
As a child, Olga was a developed and inquisitive child. She followed fashion, attended a music school where she learned to play the piano, sang, composed poems, and took part in poetry competitions, winning prizes. The girl preferred to spend her free time reading books.
After school, Freimut entered the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a degree in international journalism, which she graduated with a red diploma of a master. In parallel, she received a degree from the City University of London, where she lived and worked for several years.

As a pseudonym, Olga took the mother’s maiden name – Freimut, since Konyk considered her real name unsuitable for television. Over the years of her work, the celebrity has managed to realize herself as a journalist, TV presenter, writer, actress, and model. Where did her creative path begin?
A television
Olga Freimut’s career started during practice on the BBC channel. There she worked for several years, simultaneously acting in commercials. In 2005, the presenter returned to Ukraine and began working in the international department on Channel Five. Soon Olga wanted a more creative job, therefore, has gone on maternity leave, she began to look for a new place.
Luck turned to face Olga, and she learned about the casting of the host for the morning show “Rise” on the News Channel. Freimut led the program for three years together with Sergey Prytula and Alexander Pedan. During this time, the hosts fell in love with the audience and became the most recognizable people in the country.
In 2011, the heroine of our material got into the Showmania project, in which, together with Dmitry Kolyadenko, she shared show business news and interviewed the stars. Another successful project in Freimut’s career was the infotainment program “Inspector”. As part of the show, she tested the quality of catering establishments, hotels, and other places of service.
In addition, together with colleagues Pedan and Prytula, the presenter traveled around Ukraine as part of the CabrioLeto show. With the latter, she also led the project “Who to the beast”, where men and women compete with each other in various competitions.
Leaving the New Channel
In 2014, Freimut moved from the New Channel to the 1 + 1 TV channel, where she began to host the Inspector Freimut show. The TV project became one of the rating ones, but it was not without scandal.
The fact is that the concept of the program was similar to the project “Inspector”. The management of the New Channel sued 1 + 1 for copyright infringement and won the case. The defendants filed an appeal. Freimut herself assures that the project was not copied and belongs to her team.
Own show “Olya”
In April 2018, Freimut’s solo project, the Olya show, was launched, which became an analog of the famous Ellen DeGeneres show. Before the start of filming the project, Olga and the team went to the Warner Bros. studio. in Los Angeles, where she took a master’s class from Ellen herself. And she, in turn, blessed her colleague.
However, in September of the same year, the program was closed. According to the producers, Ukrainian viewers were not ready for the Americanized format, the absence of conflicts, the expression of personal opinion, and the presenter’s sense of humor. However, Freimut herself later stated that she was working on a continuation of the show. The star promised to become sharper and ask more tricky questions to the guests.
