KHERSON REGION 4 UNIQUE LOCATIONS FOR A SUMMER PHOTO SHOOT (1)

Summer is a traditional time for bright photos in nature. But what if you are still far from a vacation in an exotic country, and all the interesting places of your native city have long been captured? We will suggest 4 unique locations, photoshoots that will make your friends and followers on FB and Instagram enthusiastically gasp. And most importantly, a journey for unique emotions and pictures will not require special time and financial costs, because all these unusual places are located in the Kherson region.

Girl with a paddle

Most tourists, arriving in Kherson, rush to immediately go to the “sea” and “reserved” places of the region. But stay at least for a day in the regional center – you will not regret it. Indeed, in Kherson itself – a relatively small, but very clean and green southern city, there are also many attractions – monuments, fortresses, temples, parks, theaters, museums …

Pay special attention to the beautiful house (18 Luteranskaya St.) – in the last century it was not an epithet, but the actual address of the building. The openwork mini-castle with a tower, in which the mayor Nikolai Bazhkov then lived, was called “A beautiful house near the park”. The building was designed by the Odessa architect Paul Klein, who later built two more similar houses – in Odessa and in the Netherlands. For more than half a century, a music school has been located here, but if you take a picture at the still majestic walls from the right angle, the view will come out no worse than in Holland.

And after a walk along with the most romantic place in Kherson – the central embankment with a stunning view of the Dnieper – take a water taxi and go to the Green Terra Healthy Leisure Club, popular among Kherson youth. Within 10 minutes of a river walk, you will be there and after a brief briefing you will have the opportunity to kayak along the protected Dnieper floodplains, seeing at arm’s length red-book water lilies, turtles, and ducks, and if you’re lucky – even beavers, herons, and even a pelican. If kayaking is not enough for you, supplement it with emotions from fishing or a picnic with a tasting of local wine and cheese.

And, of course, a photo session! On a single or double kayak, against the backdrop of reed jungle and water lilies, you yourself will look like a rare flower. A bright life jacket and a stylish kayak paddle will add color to the picture.

Lemurian lake – a pink dream

140 km from Kherson there is a unique place, little known not only to tourists but even to the inhabitants of Tavria itself. We are talking about the Lemurian Lake (Sivash Bay), the saltwater of which is not only extremely healing but also has an amazing pale pink color due to the microorganisms living in it. Given that the surroundings of the reservoir are surrounded by salt crystals dazzlingly sparkling in the sun, it is difficult to imagine a more spectacular place for photography. Local residents deservedly compare the Lemurian Lake with the Israeli Dead Sea, because the concentration of salt is even higher! This will allow you to easily lie on the surface of the lake for half an hour, which is necessary for recovery, reading your favorite magazine.

According to legend, a unique lake was formed near the village of Grigorievka (Chaplinsky district) in the late 60s. last century as a result of an emergency – the crash of a bomber. A huge funnel arose at the site of the crash of a military aircraft, which gradually filled with brine from Sivash, saturated with useful minerals, acids, and salts. As a result, today the local water and mud successfully treat diseases of the skin, lungs, joints, and nervous system. In addition, the pink lake is famous for its tonic and rejuvenating effect on the body.

By the way, the mud of the miracle lake and its environs is officially certified by the Odessa Research Institute of Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology and is recommended for use as a therapeutic and cosmetic remedy. And although it takes a couple of weeks for a full recovery course, you can buy healing mud, salt, and clay here, packed in neat jars with detailed instructions for use, and continue useful and pleasant procedures at home.

Stanislavsky rocks – “places of happy people”

The Kherson region is associated with the steppe, so the phrase Kherson mountains (they are also Stanislavsky rocks or the grand canyon) is unaccustomed to hearing. Nevertheless, this is not fiction, but reality – just 40 km from Kherson, near the village of Stanislav (Belozersky district), on the banks of the Dnieper-Bug estuary, there is a picturesque clay massif with steep cliffs up to 50 m (16-story building height).

Perhaps the climbers who conquered the seven-thousand, the Stanislavsky rocks, will be disappointed, but they make a strong impression on the ordinary tourist. The feeling of dizzying heights, endless space, and fragrant steppe air above the canyon will simply take your breath away.

The steeps, which today are part of the Stanislavsky landscape reserve, have a glorious historical past (these regions are mentioned in the works of Herodotus, and in the 17th century Bogdan Khmelnitsky himself restored his strength here) and a promising tourist future. Well, in the present, it makes sense to come here either on a one-day excursion for cool photos and selfies or on a longer vacation as a savage – by car and with a tent, since there is no developed green tourism in these places yet.

But the absence of crowds of vacationers has its advantages: you will definitely rest here from the noise of the metropolis and feel an unprecedented surge of energy and inspiration. No wonder it was here, on the steeps, that Kuzma Skryabin filmed a video for his famous song “The World of Happy People.”

Wine queen

Kherson region is a recognized land of winemaking. But along with large producers of well-known brands of wines and cognacs, private wineries flourish here, relying on small batches of high-quality authentic wine. Among them is the first in Ukraine family winery “Kurin”, located near the village of Stepanovka on the 212th km of the Odesa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk highway.

On the well-groomed territory of “Kurinya”, there is a cozy hotel, a restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine, and an ostrich farm, but the main priority of the economy is winemaking and wine tourism. After all, despite the prosaic name, the winery is built on the principle of a classic French chateau. An informative tour of the local vineyards and wine cellars awaits you, where very stylish atmospheric pictures come out. Well, the culmination of acquaintance with the winery is a tasting of 10 author’s wines, including liqueur white wine “Sofia” from muscat grape varieties and vermouth “Stepanovі Khutor”, for the manufacture of which infusions of 10 local steppe herbs are used.

As you can see, unique photos can be taken not only in overseas resorts but also in the Kherson region, which is rapidly gaining popularity as a tourist region. Read more about the highlights of the Tavria region here.
