Kobuleti stretches for 10 km along the Black Sea. And to feel the breath of history, go to the village of Tsikhisdziri in the Kobuleti municipality and wander through the ruins of the Petra fortress built in the 6th century. In ancient times, there was a whole city here, along which the most important land route passed, connecting Western Georgia with the provinces of Byzantium. In the Middle Ages, the fortress was famous for its impregnability, for which it was called Kadzhetskaya (bewitched), as well as the largest slave market in these parts.
