SUMMER HOLIDAYS IN GEORGIA MOUNTAINS, SEA, AND WINE (1)

Enjoy the gentle sea, admire the beauty of the mountains, immerse yourself in ancient history, and at the same time feel like the most welcome guest – all this is possible only in Georgia! The most famous seaside resort in Georgia is, of course, Batumi. But rest here is not cheap, and during the season, due to the influx of tourists, it is not so easy to find accommodation. Therefore, we invite you to Kobuleti – a cozy green town 21 km north of Batumi, one of the five best resorts in Adjara.

On the first line

Kobuleti stretches for 10 km along the Black Sea. Almost all hotels here are located along the coastline, surrounded by flowering gardens and green parks – and this is one of the main advantages of this resort. Wherever you live, you are in close proximity to the sea: you hear its noise, feel the freshness, enjoy the beauty. The beaches in Kobuleti are small-pebble, wide, with a gentle entry into the sea. Walking on pebbles is very good for the feet, but for more comfort, you can buy rubber slippers, which are sold here at every step.

Accommodation options – for every taste and budget. You can rent a room or apartment from the owners for 20–50 GEL per day (1 GEL = approx. 10 UAH), choose one of the modern comfortable coastal hotels, where a double room will cost 200–250 GEL, or, for example, settle in the chic Georgia Palace Hotel & Spa 5 *, where prices start from 500 GEL per night. As for nutrition … However, this is a topic for a separate discussion.

Gaumarjos, genatsvale!

Adjarian cuisine is considered the most delicious and varied in Georgia. Therefore, during your stay at the resort, forget about diets and fasting days. The famous Adjarian khachapuri, khinkali, chakhokhbili, snore, chirbuli, baklava – be prepared for the fact that it will be difficult to get up from the table. And amazing Georgian wine! Here it is a national treasure. Every Georgian is sure that Georgia is the birthplace of wine. Even the traditional cross of St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia, looks like two crossed pieces of vine, braided by the hair of the saint herself. Therefore, do not miss the opportunity to go for a tasting at one of the

The charm of the mountains

We promised you not only the sea and wine but also the mountains. So be sure to plan an excursion to the Kintrishi National Park, which is in the vicinity of Kobuleti. Deep gorges and peaks covered with relic forests, arched bridges from the time of Queen Tamara, and monasteries carved into the rocks, the picturesque Tskhemvani waterfall, and a grove of thousand-year-old Colchis boxwoods – here you will find real natural treasures and unique photo locations.

local wineries and, of course, take home a bottle or two. Wine is the best souvenir from Georgia.

picturesque ruins

And to feel the breath of history, go to the village of Tsikhisdziri in the Kobuleti municipality and wander through the ruins of the Petra fortress built in the 6th century. In ancient times, there was a whole city here, along which the most important land route passed, connecting Western Georgia with the provinces of Byzantium. In the Middle Ages, the fortress was famous for its impregnability, for which it was called Kadzhetskaya (bewitched), as well as the largest slave market in these parts.

Melodies of Georgia

Did you know that Kobuleti is the birthplace of the famous jazz singer Nino Katamadze? And that almost every Georgian knows how to dance lezginka? And that not a single feast in Georgia is complete without choral singing? In incendiary dances and incredibly beautiful songs, the soul of the Georgian people is revealed.

You can see how much music is loved and appreciated here in the Musicians’ Park, which is a 20-minute drive from Kobuleti. On a long eucalyptus alley, there are sculptures of world-famous musicians – from Mozart to Elton John. Moreover, you can not only see them but also “listen”. A loudspeaker is mounted next to each monument, playing popular compositions from the repertoire of a particular artist. And in the Black Sea Arena concert hall located here, you can listen to celebrities live – they are frequent guests here. Come and you! And see how sincerely guests are welcomed in Georgia!
